The Free Energy Principle
The free energy principle tells you what must be true of an organism if it exists at non-equilibrium steady state. For organisms, equilibrium is death, right? If my core body temperature kind of diffused to room temperature, I would die like quite literally. So having said all this, living systems like bunny rabbits and tigers and you and I don't self- organized to equilibrium. We self-organized to this other thing that's known as a non-equilibria steady state.
