Non operative management includes close reduction and buddy taping or splinting, which is indicated for simple dorsal dislocations. Other indications include a simple volar dislocation or lateral dislocation. Inflexion or extension leads to dorsal and volar fracture dislocations at the p ip joint. Complications of p ip dislocations include api p flexion contractor, otherwise known as a pseudo butineer, swan neck deformity and an extensor lag.
