If you push someone from the front of their shoulders with the right amount of force to elicit the hip strategy, they should automatically go into a hip hinge. The next step is teaching the person how to do the hip hinge and then simultaneously lat tension. For form, we want those lats to lock down, not to keep the spine from flexing but because by doing this, it's going to help to transfer that energy along the cinomatic sequence.
