There was a movement against the chief justice of the californian supreme court. Three judges were voted out because they did not focus enough on victims rights and environmental conditions. I think it can differ state by state whether they're popularly elected or not. Says so much difference in that federal system. But combined with non compulsory voting, we're almost a sole outlier.
