The Importance of Being Sanctified

When you hear words like be holy or consecrate yourselves, you hear really two different things being said. You hear God saying, you are to be holy. This is how I want you to be. And anytime that you hear a command beneath that command is also an accusation. So on the one hand, when I hear be holy, I hear an accusation. I hear a command that I have not and really cannot keep because I fail continually to live up to this sanctified life. That's one thing I hear, but there's a much better word that I hear that drowns out that other word. We will be back next week where we'll be talking about Genesis 2:2
