In many of the historical stories, robin also takes from the church as well. And how would those stories have been received in an era, possibly before the reformation? This is interesting in a number of ways. The church was wealthy, owned anything. You know, a quarter of the land in england. And bishops and abbots were wealthy landowners. Of course, when they weren't giving enough money to the poor and travelling around in their riches, created resentment. But interestingly, at the time of these robin hood tales, from the fifteenth century, we have a movement in england known as the lollards heretics. They were very much opposed to the wealth
