The Effects of TNF on the Microbiome
The microbiome modulates the inflammatory milieu of the host, which can directly change the behavior and mood of that host. TNF elevation is a trademark and driver of many autoimmune disorders, including IBD, but also rheumatoid arthritis. Patients suffering depression have different microbiome signatures compared to their partners with whom they live.
