The Willing Suspension of Belief
When we watch a film and it's a tearjerker or something's happening to the character that you're sitting there, you're just as upset as they are. And I'm always curious, is my brain filing that as a memory and an experience that I'm having as if I had literally lived through it? Yeah. Some of my colleagues in psychology have said that's actually totally backwards,. That really what we should be talking about is willing suspension of belief.
