The Future of Cloud Computing in Europe

A recent report suggested that the UK should buy or create a national public AI compute capacity consisting of 3000 GPUs. The same problem faces France and Germany, there are efforts to build national or trusted or sovereign cloud computing platforms. But they tend to lack the scale necessary to achieve those efficiencies. And therefore people end up in companies and researchers using American platforms anyway.
