The Different Sources of Ancient Events
Josephus has a census under Quarinias. And, you know, you get a nice rebellion at that stage. I mean, people don't like having their good success because they know where that's leading. But that seems to happen, let's say, 86 onwards. So one of the one historian, Sabine Hubner, who's in Switzerland, has proposed that this is an earlier census when Quarinias is not the governor of Syria. He's simply the procurator, the guy in charge of the money bit. Maybe just with one source, you don't get so many cases. You do end up sometimes just having one source.
