What Is a Current Account Deficit?

A current account deficit is just a deficit of savers. If they're looking in at the UK and they don't like the lineup of fundamentals that they see, they think, you know what, I don't want to buy UK debt. And now that has happened dramatically since the budget. But actually, to some extent, it's been happening for months. The expectation is that we're going to see a pretty significant interest rate rise at some point from the Bank of England.
