Is There a Fear of COVID?
There is a sense of wariness on the street, but nothing like the panic that there was back in April when we had the big lockdown in Shanghai. Among workers and rural people who have perhaps less connection with the outside world, there continues to be a real fear of COVID. It's presented as this very deadly disease and people are quite frightened by it.
