I Think It Speaks to Reformists Being a Spent Force in Iran

Ambrayisi had a dark past involvement in these mass executions in the 1980s. He was actually, if we remember he said he defeated in the second election right so he actually stands against Rouhani in Rouhani's second term and loses but then he's put forward again. I think one of the more plausible explanations is that you know Khomeh and that part of the establishment wants to have a firm grip of things when Khomeh dies who will then ultimately succeed to him is obviously unclear. The reformist project has very much shown itself to be a spent force and doesn't have answers of how to actually overcome and find a way out of this impasse.
