When you're early in a disease, or you're not using a highly adictive substance, you may manifest something that people recognize as dry drunk. Dry drunk is irritability, rage, outbursts, controlling,. depression, anxiety, are all features of alcoholism untreated. And then sober is primarily talking about people that are in some sort of mutual aid society - though i think to day it would also include people who are in emotion and need no therapeutic interventions. We now have a, you know, meta analyses done from harvard and stamford that show tha twelfte step, which is free, can be better than any professionally managed interventions.
