Are You Disappointed That Keats, Shelley and Byron Never Grow Out of Romanticism?
Keats, Shelley and Byron all died fairly young. I think it's highly significant because they never have a chance to grow out of it themselves. Mary Shelley in 1826 when she is writing her next novel or a novel called The Last Man talks about being the kind of last of her generation in her late 20s. She definitely has a feeling that she has outlived her entire generation. There are some great anecdotes about all this but actually it leaves a lot of really serious thinking as well.
