The last dumb seller sold and there's a vacuum. And markets go up initially. You'll see at market bottoms that markets bottom because of the absence of selling. If there's buying, it's usually short covering. So I'm a firm believer that at each market, and more so now than ever, industry groups should be able to identify exhaustion of trends prior to their occurrence. Back in 1934, before May Day, high volume day was 10, 10 million shares.
