The Smells of the Bank
Public space is full of people, it needs to be heated so there are stoves within it. There would have been a cesspit out in the bank yard and probably toilets as well. We don't know what the toilet facilities were like in the bank. It's surrounded by roads that are full of horses and therefore full of manure.
