The Global Impact of History

BBC1's History of the World, tonight at 9pm on BBC2. Show is about how history echoes itself in different places around the world. This week we look at a series of treaties negotiated between Allied powers and China throughout the 19th century to get best out of trade. And what we discovered is that series of treaties over that hundred years has had an immense impact on how China sees herself in the world. We couldn't have done that story anywhere else but understanding China.
