The Debt Ceiling and the President's Call for a Clean Debt Limit

Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen warned the federal government could face default as early as June 1 sooner than previously expected. The reduced timeline increases the urgency for the White House and Congress to get on the same page between now and June 1. There are only eight legislative days in which both the Senate and the House are in session at the same time. For over 200 years, America has never ever ever failed with our debt. We pay our bills and we should do so without reckless hostage taking from some of the mega Republicans in Congress.
