Nicholas Said's Journey Into Enslavement
Nicholas Said grew up in Borneo as the son of a wealthy and powerful general. His father was killed during an invasion by a neighboring kingdom, Bhagirmi. He went on a hunting trip to celebrate his graduation from classes in Arabic and the Quran. The Tuaregs captured him and other students and sold them into slavery.
