Castles as Expressions of Landownership
I think we have a very strange idea that somehow er the past was very, very rugged. I don't think we tend to think of them als as prisons, as a matter of fact. They are architectural emblem of landownership. If you can ride wherever you want, over over a landscape to hunt something, it's yours. Doesn't matter what damage you do, nobody can complain,. ecause it's hers. And a the sort of as a seat of hunting, i may i think that's a very, very, very long continuity.
