What Can a Balloon Do That Satellites Can't?
CNN's John Defterios talks with Shane Smith about China's balloon surveillance program. He says the Chinese are using balloons instead of high-powered satellites to spy on their enemies. The advantage is that they move very slowly and can hover over targets for hours at a time, he says. But U.S. radar wasn't always able to detect them properly, which may have been one reason why some crossed into US airspace in recent years, according to sources.
