What Is the Ratio of Perceived Exertion?
The brain has already worked out how fast you can run for the whole race, and it starts your symptoms of discomfort. And as you go through the race, there's a linear increase in these ratings. The reading of perceived exertion at most people think of as kind of primitive and that those kinds of metrics are moving towards heart rate training and those kinds of things. But i doubt that everything in your body is changing as a linear function how far you run.
