Starling and Gorgodeg
Gorgodeg was an old railway worker and unionist who was a not very bright, but very determined. So at that time, it looks as though ramania is very much in starling's pocket. And the real difficulty comes when starling dies. Gorgiodeg has to suddenly say, oh, i'm a reformist too. I'm definitely a reformist. This tells us that romania feels so intimidated by its vast neighbour the east, by russia, that everything the russians ask them to do, at that point, they have to obey this tension between Russia and Romania.
