Conscientious Objectors in the British Peace Movement

How common were female conscientious objectors and were they treated any differently to their male counterparts it's an interesting question. In the public imagination but also in the in imagination of many peace activists uh contentious objectors are predominantly male that's partly because military conscription when it was first introduced at the war was four men. Stella Cinjian was determined to go to prison as a way proving that her conscience and her conscience opposition to war was real and genuine and sincere.
