The thing that fascinates me the most about wolves and I've seen a lot of it over the years is how they cooperatively hunt. So what happened with this book was I focused on trying to be a journalist and be as objective to both sides of the issue as possible. John Birch came to Denali back in the 90s to do a wolf, he's a tremendous field biologist who has handled between 500 and 600 wolves during his career. He started this project at Denali, took it somewhat to conclusion although it's still ongoing and then moved on to Yukon Charlie Rivers National Preservus.
