Why We See More Video Than Ever
The reason why we see more video than ever is not because media has been investing or journalism has been investing more in putting their people out there to get X, Y and Z. Foreign bureaus have been slashed. The peak of American foreign bureau investment somewhere maybe in the late 90s, if not the early 2000s. Since then it has fallen off an absolute cliff. What has changed is that now everybody around the world has at least likely access to something that can record video and something that can upload it to the internet for which we can then disseminate it and it becomes fodder.
