There wasn't agreement here in Northern Ireland to change the law, abortion was decriminalised by the UK government. The reality is how it being a devolved matter, the DUP and others were never going to provide abortion health care,. So it was incumbent on Westminster to do it. And they're commissioning stalled. When we were promised a service post decriminalisation, it didn't come. Eventually the Secretary of State, Brandon Lewis, took the decision and met with us routinely as did the Northern Ireland office for talks. Now women are getting access to abortion services, but it's not a fully commissioned service. But unsurprisingly, there are people who can't access abortion on those grounds and will need
