When times are rough and vol is high, you understand why you have to pay a lot. This low-spread thing can move a lot. You can get an option like payout being short or be exposed to the loss being long. And this is why I feel very fortunate that my sandbox where I grew up in the credit rate of market is a really viable forum for tail-aging.
