There were many years during the early founding when states actually had state churches where they had established state churches. It is interesting too, because Luther being two kingdom, I think he was also in favor of a some form of state church as well. And you're in danger anytime I say something like that of I'm planning with a broad brush, you're going to find exceptions. You cannot have political neutrality.
