The Phoenician City of Tyre
The port city of Tyre in what's now Lebanon is one of the oldest continually inhabited cities. The Phoenicians are a Bronze Age, Semitic seafaring civilization on the Leventine coast. Originally it was an island city, amazingly fortified with these sky-high towers rising directly out of the waves and multi-story houses within the city.
