What's the Fuck in Jimmy Carter?
How did the leader of a Democratic party that had embraced full employment come to so readily embrace austerity? Carter is just this like staggering exception to that where he, he appoints Volcker knowing full well what he's going to do. And then he stands by Volcker as he does this, you know, induction inducing a recession in an election year. So there's this really kind of big question of like, like what the fuck was he doing? and like why wasn't he more sensitive to this?
