The Rise of the Global Chief Heat Officer
During heat waves, cities can be up to 15 degrees Celsius warmer than surrounding regions. Hillene Miravili is the first global chief heat officer appointed by the United Nations Habitat and the Adrian Arsht Rockefeller Foundation Resilient Centre. She works with other chief heat officers in countries such as the US, Sierra Leone and more recently Bangladesh. I sat down with Hillene to find out how these newly created positions are making cities more resilient.
