"I have all this facility with these languages and an excitement by certain trends in them, certainly speculative realism. And I like certain ways of talking about objects that people are doing," he says. "Now I sense a sort of a kind of proto animism in some of the ways that people are approaching things ... it feels very rich to me" He's not really sure what his personal relationship to ongoing academic production will be because he enjoys the genre but can't imagine himself being incorporated within it.
