Classical Ballet - Character Dances
In the 19 thirties, character dance started to be seen as a perfect vehicle for classical ballet. Character dancers were given a much more prominent role in russian ballets. This helped turn it into soviet ballet, make it appear much more democratic. And nina m was the most talented young character dancer. The plot of the ballet was set on a collective farm and involved artists. But ideology struck down this ballet in a big editorial in the party newspaper.
