The First Non Aligned Movement Conference in Belgrade in 1961

The first non aligned movement conference was held in Belgrade in 1961. The 25 heads of delegations were unanimous in their appraisal that the question of war or peace was not a matter concerning the great nuclear powers alone. Blasco Gabbard spent 13 years in Canada but came back in 1980 just before Tito died. He blames both nationalist politics and a lack of Western support for the breakup of Yugoslavia.
