The Importance of Social Determinants in Health
Dr. Lizzie Bartelsklaas: I think about all of the myths that float around and where pools are, and who has access to swimming and who doesn't. So my brain goes straight to social determinants, because of course it does. In swimming pools, black children ages 10 to 14 years, drown at rates 7.6 times higher than white children. Do you know any other information out there about swimming pools? Like, do I know where swimming pools are located in communities? Or do I know about, I mean, I've been around you for a lot of years so I know something.
