The Limits of Anomaly Detection
There has been a huge amount of press about using anomaly detection for fraud detection. It does have some pretty severe limitations though, in that a given fraudster is going to try very hard to not look like an anomaly. The problem is the false positive rate on anomaly detection is enormous and it's very difficult to fight against. So just be aware that it should be one tool when you're arsenal. But it shouldn't be the deal and end all.
