In the thirteenth century there was no such thing as a scientist. But roger bacon would have got into great fights and disputes over whatever the argument deje, but let's it act. He sort of postulated that thinking that we see is because our eyes project beams of some kind of energy, and that's how we see. And actually, he was like, oo, no. It's just light coming into your eyes, is how we seeing. That seemed to be quite a radical departure in the world of optics. understanding optics and understanding mathematics was to understand the mind of god, as it were. So Bacon ends up at oxford after being called roger bacon
