I'm glad you brought up the political context. It's a heavy theme through your book about how Britain's place in world and empire shaped. And that's something that I think many people don't realize about the tomb of Tudor and common, a part of course from Egyptians who know this history all too well. So we can't separate archaeology and politics. They absolutely feed off each other,. decisions about archaeology in Egypt were taken at the highest level of the British administration that was running the country from 1882 until the 1922 kind of granting of independence.
