Coming Out Can Be a Social Death Penalty
Social death is a term used to describe people who are not accepted as fully human in society. People with cognitive decline or cognitive impairments say they experience social death because sometimes you are treated like you don't even exist. Its essentially modern day exile. Sara was housebound, not by choice, obviously, she's going through a lot. She wants some fresh air, but she can't go out unless it's night time. At this point, no new places of employment cared that she was being slandered. They didn't want the drama.
