The Effects of Force on Muscle Bone Pain
It seems like my athletes that have backwards mechanics are the ones that tend to have a lot more shin issues. And maybe because they're applying force in a way that's not really, you know, conducive to running fast. Is that, is that scientifically sound? Yeah, of course. We look at the best track athletes at 800, 1500 meter runners who run with a vertical tibia and plantar flex foot. Their ground contact time is minimal. They produce an awful lot of force. You don't hear, we don't ask those athletes to run soft. It's just the way they're transmitting load.
