The Advantages and Disadvantages of Hand Held Radios
When we think of a handheld radio, we're kind of talking about like the policeman's walkie talkie. A duplex repeater means it listens on one frequency and speaks on another. The desktop units come in when you want to start getting into what's known as HF radios. And those are very easy to establish a communication link anywhere in the world. But typically that takes a little bit more skill than with hand held devices.
