The Relationship Between Biochemistry and Behavior

After 25 years of studying basic neurobiology, he became fascinated by the link between biochemistry and behavior. He studied how proteins got to where they were going through a process called axonal transport. The vesicles themselves have a marker, so some of them will get off the rarer tract along the way to replenish the materials in the proteins. Some of them go all the way to the end and replenish the molecules at the synapse; those molecules make transmitters that get released as signaling process.
