What Is Shakespeare's Authorship?
It's a revisionist time and a time of new kinds of fictional forms, perhaps coalescing in the way that then allows intellectual inquiry to develop. So questions about where we came from, where did the plays of Shakespeare come from? We might notice the questioning of religious orthodoxy based on new discoveries in geology for example. What became paleontology and archaeology was very much examining the past and where things came from.
