Thatcher and Reagan's Sense of a Global Struggle
Reagan thought of himself as having the weight of a global struggle on his shoulders. Thatcher and that generation portage were never naive enough to think they could chart a kind of third weight. She was nervous about Gorbachev and Reagan going too far, you know, going too far towards on taunt. And she was probably right that in this existential struggle to paint the other side as evil then you should be mindful of your own reputation and soft power.
