I've never really had an outsized sense of cricket's importance. Ultimately it's an indulgence for us to be as interested as we are in the game. I have a very tiny little voice that is drowned in the general cacophony. And if I never read about cricket again it wouldn't be a huge loss. You know life would go on providing up beyond playing it.
