How to Survive Trauma With Humor
Comedy was a way for me to get self-worth as a queer kid growing up. The first movie I ever saw was The Mark's Brothers, A Night at the Opera. There are some like real trauma in what your family have experienced and what has been intergenerational trauma. To then lean on humor, I think it can be a real coping mechanism for a lot of people in a lot of ways. When you've been through these things, jokes about Uber Eats don't necessarily cut it all the time. It's a huge much oxygen in the womb, you know.
