The Persians ruled eastern europe, north africa and western asia for two centuries. Darius the great instigated a communication system which was second to none. The king's laws were disseminated throughout the whole empire through the use of aromaic. Their governance was based on what we call the satrapl system. Usually members of the imperial family were stationed in different parts of the empire that ran those sections of the empire.
