CNN's Willie Geist says criminal trials are not supposed to be political endeavors. The prosecutors did a pretty good job at keeping politics out of the trial, he says. But lead defendant Elmer Stewart Rhodes blew it all up when he took the stand and said that the election was unconstitutional,. He really put the big lie on trial," writes Geist.
